About Us
ClubGuardian was established in early 2025 by three friends in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The trio saw a need for better process and administration of sports clubs and volunteer organizations throughout Canada. Borne from experience at various levels of Board Leadership, Technical Leadership, volunteerism and professional experiences in technology and learning, ClubGuardian is the startup solution to make organizations safer, more efficient and engaging for its volunteers'.
The Team
Jane Matthews, VP of Engineering
Jane Matthews is a seasoned software developer and strategic leader with an MBA, PMP, and a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science. As VP of Engineering for ClubGuardian, she architects and codes the platform's core systems, leveraging her technical mastery and firsthand experience in sports administration to solve real-world challenges. In her role in governance in a board of directors, Jane has navigated the complexities of nonprofit operations—motivating her to build tools that simplify volunteer workflows, prioritize safety, and foster community engagement.
Susan Steele, VP of Business Development
With over 35 years of dedicated service across multiple volunteer sport organizations, Susan brings exceptional expertise to ClubGuardian. Her comprehensive background spans coaching, board membership, and executive leadership positions. Susan's unique combination of frontline volunteer experience and administrative leadership has given her firsthand insight into the complex challenges facing volunteer coordinators and administrators. This practical knowledge has been instrumental in shaping ClubGuardian's intuitive platform and comprehensive feature set. As both an educator and mother of two, Susan's commitment to child safety is deeply personal, driving her passion to create solutions that protect young athletes while respecting volunteers' valuable time and enhancing the sports community experience.
Fawn Mulholland VP of Product
Fawn's background is two-fold with experience in Technical Leadership within soccer clubs and Business Operations in high-tech; MedTech and FinTech. Fawn's experience in the backend of technology systems and front lines of administering programs for 3,000+ participants and 300+ volunteers marries well to bring a unique perspective to the development of ClubGuardian's platform.
